We built this game to be played, not to collect your data. Here's everything, in plain language.
You don't create an account to play. We don't know your name, your email, or who you are. There is nothing to log into and nothing for us to lose.
Your daily score and streak are saved in your browser's local storage — on your phone or computer, not on our servers. We never see it. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, that history is gone; we couldn't recover it if we wanted to, because we never had it.
We don't set advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run ads. There is no cookie banner because there are no cookies that need one.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, gives us privacy-friendly analytics: how many people visited, which pages, roughly what country, and anonymous game events like "a player finished today's daily with a 4 out of 5." None of it is tied to you as a person, and Vercel's Web Analytics does not use cookies or track visitors across sites.
If you write to us — hello@, info@, or the Sunday Word at sunday@ — we'll have whatever you sent, and we'll use it only to reply and run the game. Sunday Word winners are featured by first name, last initial, and church only with what you gave us. Ask us to delete your emails any time and we will.
Anything unclear, or want something removed? Email hello@thegoodwordgame.com and a human will answer.
