Did you know?

Ezra doesn't appear in the book of Ezra until chapter 7 — the first six chapters belong to Zerubbabel and the first wave home from Babylon.

When the temple foundation was laid, the young men shouted for joy and the old men — who remembered Solomon's temple — wept aloud. Scripture says you couldn't tell the sounds apart.

Ezra was 'a ready scribe in the law of Moses' who had 'prepared his heart' to study, do, and teach — in that order. Teachers, take the hint.

Portions of four chapters of Ezra were written in Aramaic, not Hebrew — official imperial correspondence, filed straight into Scripture.
